Iteration

The process of repeating and refining actions, products, or strategies through successive cycles of testing, learning, and improvement. Iteration embraces incremental progress over perfectionism, launching quickly with a basic version, gathering feedback and data, making improvements, and repeating the cycle. This approach, central to lean startup methodology, enables rapid learning with minimal investment. Iteration applies to product development (MVP to refined product), content creation (testing headlines), marketing campaigns (optimising based on results), and AI prompts (refining through multiple attempts). Successful entrepreneurs iterate constantly, treating setbacks as learning opportunities rather than failures.

Why it matters

Iteration dramatically reduces risk and accelerates success by enabling course corrections based on real feedback rather than assumptions. AI tools enable rapid iteration, testing dozens of approaches in hours that would previously require weeks.
