Full starter identities for new businesses: logo, colours, fonts and templates

Potential earnings
£150-300 for logo-only work, £400-800 for a full identity package. The package is where the living is.

Use AI to explore logo concepts fast, then package them with typography, a colour palette, social templates and a mini brand guide into a complete starter identity for new businesses.

Why it works

A logo on its own is a saturated race to the bottom - AI made logo generation nearly free, and buyers know it. What small businesses will still pay for is the full kit: a logo plus the colours, fonts and templates that make everything they publish look consistent. The package is the product; the logo is just the front door.

The catch

Standalone AI logos are now a commodity - if a client only wants a logo, they can get one nearly free, and plenty will say so. This only works as a package business with real typography and layout skill on top of the AI.

Step by step

  1. Master one image tool for concept exploration (Midjourney or Looka) and one layout tool (Canva)
  2. Build a fixed package: 3 logo concepts, colour palette, two fonts, 5 social templates, one-page brand guide
  3. Add the typography yourself - AI still handles lettering badly, and this is the part clients can see you did yourself
  4. Create 3 sample identities for imaginary businesses as your portfolio
  5. Be transparent about AI use in your listings - it filters out bad-fit clients early
  6. Specialise in refresh projects for existing businesses; they are easier sales than startups

Tools you'll use

  • Midjourney or Looka
  • Canva
  • Vectorizer.ai
  • Photopea

Chuck's pro tip

Show every concept on mockups (business cards, shopfronts, Instagram grids) so clients can see it living in the world. Upsell a printed brand guide. Never compete with £15 logo gigs on price; compete on the finished kit.
